Project PREVENT is Officially Underway

On November 20, 2025, the project consortium gathered in the vibrant city of Lisbon, Portugal, for our official Kick off Meeting (KOM). This milestone event brought together leading experts, justice professionals, and community health advocates from across Europe to align our strategic vision and set the groundwork for a more resilient, prevention oriented justice system.

What is the PREVENT Project? Supported by the EU4Health programme, PREVENT (Preventing Suicide and Mental Health Challenges Among Justice Staff and Vulnerable Populations Through Sustainable Strategies) addresses a critical and growing challenge: the disproportionately high rates of psychological distress and suicide risk among individuals connected to the criminal justice system including ex-offenders, probationers, and the frontline staff who support them.
